Dear Diary,
I am sorry to not have written in you for a while even though I promised. These last couple of months have been very hard on Mommy, daady and me and my sisters. On February 11, 2010; our little sister Bella LaRue went to heaven. The weeks before Mommy noticed how hard it was becoming for Bella to walk. She could only walk 2 to 3 feet at a time. Mommy knew in her heart she had to do what was right and what was best for Bella. For the next two weeks Mommy spent everyday loving her as she always had. She would hold her and tell her how much she loved her, and how special she was. Bella loved when Mommy would hold her in her arms, face up and they would go into the backyard to view the moon and stars at night. Mommy would say "Bella Luna, it's the moon! God left the night light on for you!" Bella would look left to right and back again. She would get so excited, and then she would kiss Mommy. Bella's last morning with us was so special. We never doubted if what we were doing was the right thing, we knew it was. Bella's morning started with a wonderful serving of egg, chesse and bacon. She has some frosted animal cookie bits and Daddy gave her some roast beef. Then Mommy took her upstairs and pampered her and put on the most beautiful dress from her Aunt Clarisa. Then she placed a purple ribbon in her hair. Mommy took some special pictures, as we watched. Bella even held her tiny head up for her photo shoot, which would be her last. Mommy thinks Bella knew. Then Mommy cut her ponytail off and attched a butterfly hairclip to it. Then they went downstairs and Mommy played "Butterfly Kisses" and held Bella in her arms and sang to her...and cried. Bella kissed Mommy and it was such a special moment. Then it was time. Mommy wrapped Bella in a beautiful satin baby butterfly blanket and placed a butterfly toy in her arms. Mommy and Daddy let us say our good-byes and then they left to the vets. Bella LaRue passed away peacefully in Mommy's arms at 3:44 PM. Mommy cried and Daddy took care of everything. We miss her dearly, but she will never be forgotten. You see Bella was meant to come to our home. She died of GME and because Mommy feels it was meant to be, that no one could care for her the way Mommy did...Mommy is in the process of starting "The Bella LaRue Foundation" to help find a cure for GME in dogs. Mommy is doing this as a mission of love. A mission in her honor, so no one will have to go through what we have, but knowing that WE made a difference in someone's live. Butterfly kisses for Bella Boo forever! <3 |
